SPLA-IO Sector Two Commander, Lt. Gen. Peter Ruot Chuol, made a brief but significant visit to Adok Port in Leer County, a key logistical and military hub in Unity State. The port also serves as the headquarters of the 4th B Division, commanded by Maj. Gen. Gatgok Khor Riaka.
The visit highlights the strategic importance of Adok Port, which remains a critical gateway for supplies, troop movement, and control of water routes in the oil-rich region. Gen. Ruot’s tour signals ongoing efforts by SPLA-IO leadership to maintain strong security oversight and ensure operational readiness across key positions in Sector Two.
Officials described the visit as “purposeful and reassuring,” particularly amid renewed focus on regional stability and community safety. Lt. Gen. Ruot also held a closed-door briefing with field officers and local leadership during his stop.
