“It is an honor to serve as Honorary Consul, and I am fully dedicated to promoting fruitful cooperation between our two countries,” she stated.
Role of an Honorary Consul
An honorary consul is an individual appointed by a foreign government to represent its interests in a host country, typically in regions where a full diplomatic mission may not exist. Their role focuses on:
- Facilitating economic and trade partnerships
- Promoting cultural and educational exchanges
- Supporting citizen services and bilateral initiatives
This appointment signals Brazil’s growing interest in engaging with South Sudan as the country opens up new frontiers in diplomacy, trade, and international relations.
